June is dry and hard. The peak of the season is underway and areas like the western Serengeti are extremely popular at this time of year with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest accumulating in the western corridor.
As the rains are properly completed, the savannas are already beginning to change from green to yellow, and wildlife sightings are constantly improving as the vegetation slowly recedes.
Herds of wildebeest stop at the Grumeti River to accumulate numbers before trying to cross the river in the thousands. Many successfully cross the river for safety in numbers. However, if you are in the right place at the right time, you can spot a crocodile trying to kill a wildebeest.
June is probably the best time of year to visit the Serengeti because of the amazing wildlife scenery along with the best views to see in the northernmost parts.
