It is famous for its vast open grassy areas that allow excellent observation of wildlife. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest national park and one of the oldest ecosystems on Earth. Its climate and vegetation have remained largely untouched for millions of years. While the Serengeti boasts abundant wildlife, it is perhaps best known for its annual great migration and the presence of big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as an incredible, endless plain. A large number of wildebeest; accompanied by a large number of zebras and antelopes, move annually in constant search for fresh pasture.
