Day 1: MOMBASA

Arrive in Moi International Airport, Mombasa where you will be meet by a High Peaks Expeditions representative with a welcome banner and flower garlands. Mombasa City is the second largest in Kenya and the main seaport of East Africa. Your luggage will be loaded into the minivans and you will then be transferred to The Voyager Beach Resort is a 4 star beach front hotel where you are reserved on an All-Inclusive basis.

All Inclusive package includes accommodation, all meals, soft drinks all local non-alcoholic drinks, local alcoholic wines, beers and spirits, snacks the whole day and non-motorized water sports activities.

At The Beach Resort, you will be welcomed with a cool coconut ‘madafu’ drink and a traditional African dance. The whole group will be prechecked in and the keys will be distributed as the clients enjoy their welcome drink.

Day 2: MOMBASA

Full day spent in Mombasa. You are on All Inclusive basis at The Voyager Beach resort so all your meals are included. This day is yours to relax on the beach and enjoy the many facilities available at the Resort

Day 3: TSAVO NATIONAL PARK

06:30 Early breakfast at The Voyager Beach Resort.

07:30 Check out of the hotel and picked up by your High Peaks Expeditions professional driver/guides and driven to the Tsavo West National Park.

12:30 Arrive in Tsavo West National Park and proceed to The Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge where you will be met with a cool welcome drink, cold towels to freshen you up and checked in as a group.

The Tsavo West National Park – 9,065 km – is easy to reach, located off the main Nairobi-Mombasa road. It offers tremendous views with diverse habitats ranging from mountains, rivers, forests, plains, lakes and wooded grassland. Its plains border with Tanzania. Game includes leopard, cheetah, buffalo, black rhino, elephant, giraffe, lesser kudu and waterbuck, eland, gerenuk, impala, zebra, lion, crocodile and small mammals including mongoose, hyrax, dik dik and the nocturnal porcupine.

Bird life is legion and the visitor is constantly meeting with new species. One of the most conspicuous is the white-headed buffalo weaver, brownish-black and white with a vivid red rump when it flies. Starlings are numerous the rare but duller Fisher’s sterling, hornbills are also prevalent. Birds include Sunbird and weaver birds are well represented. Hole nesting birds include parrots, barbets and rollers. It is an excellent park for visitors who enjoy walking, offering a number of nature trails and the opportunity to explore several volcanic
features such as Chaimu volcanic crater, Shitani lava flow and Shitani Cave. Most of the park is made up of basement gneisses and schists explaining the volcanic origin of the Chyulu hills range running through the park.

Mzima Springs is a star attraction, a pool of natural water surfacing from below a lava ridge, with underwater observation chamber one can look through the plate-glass windows where Hippos, Crocodiles and shoals of Barbel may be watched.
Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is a first class lodge with a wonderful view of Mt. Kilimanjaro – the tallest mountain in Africa. The lodge is well known for its very hospitable staff and superb cuisine. At the lodge you will be welcomed with a cool welcome drink and cold towels.

13:00 Buffet lunch at the Lodge in the main restaurant which overlooks the picturesque Chyulu hills to your right and the Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro – the tallest mountain in Africa – with its twin snow covered peaks, to your left. A special exclusive area has been reserved for your group for lunch.

Afternoon at leisure to relax at the lodge or take a dip in the lovely swimming pool.

16:30 Go for your afternoon game viewing drive in the Tsavo West National Park. This game drive will take you to Mzima Springs, a natural springs where Mombasa City gets all its water from. The springs are the ideal place to see Hippos and crocodile and fish of all colours. You will get to learn about indigenous trees and their traditional uses. The Springs also have a lot of bird life. Continue on with your game drive in search of Elephants, Giraffes, Zebra and lots of other animals.

18:30 We have a special spot in the Tsavo West National Park, on top of a gigantic rock. From this rock it is possible to look out onto the plains for many miles. We will organize a sundowner cocktail for the whole group and the guests can watch as the sun sets behind the Mount Kilimanjaro – with its snow capped peaks – Kibo and Mawenzi, glittering in the fading sunlight. Hot and cold canapés will be available during the sundowner cocktail.

After the cocktail we will return to the lodge.

20:00 Dinner is reserved in the main restaurant, again in an exclusive special reserved setting specially for your group. Overnight at The Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 4: TSAVO/VOI

06:30 Early morning game viewing drive in the Park where you have a chance to see the animals as they hunt this morning.

08:30 Champagne breakfast at The Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.

10:00 You will check out of The Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge and drive to The Tsavo East National Park.

Arrive in Tsavo East National Park and proceed on to The Voi Wildlife Lodge. Game viewing en route.

12:00 Upon arrival at The Voi Wildlife Lodge you will be meet with a cool welcome drink to quench your thirst and a cold towel. Your luggage will be taken to the rooms by the porters and you have time to freshen up before your lunch.

The Voi Wildlife Lodge is located right on the edge of the Tsavo East National Park. Accommodation include large, spacious bedrooms with traditional furniture and beds. The Lodge provides specially equipped rooms for the handicapped and all public areas are wheelchair friendly.

The lodge is located in the heart of elephant country, where the natural water hole attracts big game including lions, cheetahs, buffalo, waterbuck and a variety of bird life from miles around.

A large variety of global cuisine sustained by two separate kitchens, one entirely dedicated to vegetarian food allows the lodge to cater for all tastes.

12:30 Full buffet lunch in the main restaurant at the The Voi Wildlife Lodge.

16:00 Evening game viewing in the Tsavo East National Park. The Tsavo East National Park – 11,747 SQ KM – is one of Kenya’s Oldest and largest National Parks: covering approximately 40 per cent of the total area of all Kenya’s National Parks.
Its beautiful landscape and proximity to the coast make it a popular safari destination. It is accredited as one of the worlds leading bio diversity strongholds, bushy grassland and open plains alternate with semi-arid acacia scrub and woodlands. Green swathes cross the park where the riverbanks give raise to lush vegetation. North of Galana is a true wilderness. A number of leading tour guides offer private safaris across this area, camel safaris are a feature.

Tsavo-East is recommended for photographers, with its fabulous light and unbelievable views, in particular the Mudanda Rock and the Yatta Plateau, the world’s largest lava flow. Two permanent rivers water the park, the Tsavo River that flows through Tsavo West and the Athi River, which flows from Tsavo East. The two unite to form the Galana River just before Lugard Falls, which is known for the remarkably shaped water-worn rocks. Game includes: elephants rhino, lion,leopard, crocodile, waterbuck, kudu, gerenuk, zebra, and Hunters Hartebeest can be seen with its lyre-shaped horns. Home to some of the largest herds in Kenya, the elephants glow red after dust baths, blowing the vivid red dust through their trunks over their bodies.

Some 500-bird species have been recorded in the area, including ostrich and some migratory kestrels, while buzzards stop at Tsavo-East during their long flight south.

18:30 After your exciting game drive return to the Voi Wildlife Lodge.

20:00 Dinner is arranged for you in an exclusive location in the Voi Wildlife Lodge Overnight at The Voi Wildlife lodge.

Day 5: MOMBASA

06:30 Early morning game viewing drive in the Tsavo East National Park. The early morning game viewing drives are the best times to witness the big cats hunting, and the sunrises in Africa are truly unforgettable.

08:30 Return to your lodge for breakfast.

09:30 You will be assisted to check out of The Voi Wildlife Lodge and drive back to Mombasa, game viewing en route.

En route to Mombasa we will arrange for you a visit to an authentic Maasai Village. In the village you will be welcomed by Maasai women dancing. A guide will take you through the village explaining in details the way the Maasai live, their beliefs and traditions. You will get a demonstration of how the Maasai make fire using sticks. You will go into their houses and will be shown the full family set-up. At the end of the guided tour you will come to a market where you will have a chance to buy some of the items and curios made in their village. While in the village you are allowed to take as many pictures as you want.

Upon arrival in Mombasa you will be met and transferred back to your hotel – The Voyager Beach Resort where again you will be welcomed with a cool drink and dancers while checking in.

13:00 Lunch at the Resort. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at The Voyager Beach Resort.

Day 6: MOMBASA

After your breakfast at The Voyager Beach Resort, we have arranged for you a visit to the Ngomongo Cultural Center. This tour provides a glimpse into the traditions and cultures of the coastal people with a visit to Ngomongo Village where you will see Giriama, Kikuyus, Digos, Kalenjin and Luo homesteads and be explained by a guide how the different tribes live. At the end of the guided tour you will be entertained by different tribal dances.

After the tour you will be driven back to the Resort for Lunch.

Afternoon at leisure to relax. Dinner and overnight at The Voyager Beach Resort.

Day 7: MOMBASA

Breakfast at The Voyager Beach Resort. Morning at leisure. Lunch at The resort. Afternoon at leisure.

17:30 You will picked up from the resort and transferred to the North Coast Jetty. Here the clients board a dhow that takes them to see the sunset and then sails down to the Mombasa Old Port. The whole down rides take 01 hour 15 minutes.

In the dhow, the guests are served a welcome drink and there is a cash bar in the dhow in case a guest wants to buy drinks. Guests then disembark at the Old Port and are led through the narrow streets of the Old Port to Fort Jesus, where, men dressed in Portuguese attire and holding flaming torches welcome them to the Fort.

At the fort, guests are treated to 20 minutes of lecture using sounds and lights giving the very exciting history of Mombasa and The Fort Jesus. Thereafter guests sit down inside the Fort for a sumptuous dinner. After dinner guests are transferred back to their hotel using coaches. Overnight at The Voyager Beach Resort.

Day 8: MOMBASA

Breakfast at The Voyager Beach Resort. Transferred to The Mombasa Airport for your Kenya Airways flight to Nairobi to connect directly onto your international flight back Home.
