10 Days Chimpanzee trekking

Pick up from Dar es Salaam international Airport and transfer to the hotel Meal and overnight at the hotel in Dar es Salaam.

In the morning after breakfast, you’ll be driven to Dar es Salaam International Airport for your flight to Kigoma. You’ll be picked up on arrival at Kigoma and driven to the Lake Tanganyika Beach hotel for lunch. After lunch, you’ll visit the Dr.Livingstone memorial at Ujiji village where, under the shade of two historical mango trees, the Caretaker will regale you with tales about Dr. Livingstone and his famous African expedition. As the day comes to an end, we’ll take you to hotel where you can relax and enjoy the views over Lake Tanganyika as the sun goes down.

In the morning after breakfast, you’ll be driven to Lake Tanganyika for your boat trip to Mahale
Mountain National Park. It takes four to six hours to get from Kigoma town to Mahale Mountain National Park by speed boat and after a packed lunch your guide will take you to the forest for late afternoon chimpanzee tracking.

Meals and accommodation at the Camp

You will spend two full days chimpanzee tracking in Mahale. Chimpanzees normally move in search of food and nest wherever there’s an abundant food source such as their favorite fruit. Snorkeling is an option if you’d like to cool off in the water and see what lies below the surface.

After breakfast, you will depart on another day of watching the chimpanzees in the woods. Gombe Stream National Park became famous for a conservation project launched by Jane Goodall, who first arrived in Gombe in 1960. You will climb Jane’s Peak and visit Kakombe Falls if weather permits; as well as walk independently. After that, a walk along the lake waterfall is possible. Later in the day, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast picks up for boat departure to Gombe National Park. On arrival pick up and transfer to the Camp where you can relax on the beach.

Early in the morning after breakfast you’ll visit Kakombe waterfall and enjoy another full day of
chimp tracking. In the late afternoon, you’ll head back to the beach to enjoy a cool swim in the
deepest lake in the world.

Chimpanzee tracking and visit Mwamgongo fishing village where you will enjoy traditional dancing music and experience local fishing activities.

After breakfast transfer to the lake for boat departure to Kigoma town.
Pick up on arrival and transfer to Hotel.
