Our first destination is the marvelous game reserve, Murchison Falls National Park. On the journey to the park, we can’t resist stopping by Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where the endangered wild rhinos were first reintroduced into Uganda. With a seasoned guide, we will track and observe these beautiful creatures that are a part of the “Big Five” family. After this appetizer for adventure, we will continue to Murchison Falls for an evening game drive.

Wake up to an early morning breakfast and set out before the dew dries for a morning game drive. This is a good chance to spot lots of wild game as they arise to get on with their day. We will return to the lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon, unwind with a boat cruise on the Nile. Here we will be observing hippos and crocodiles at close quarters until we disembark at the base of Murchison Falls. A scenic climb to the peak of the waterfalls will reveal magnificent views of the Nile winding through the sprawling park in the light of the setting sun.

After breakfast, we will embark on our journey to Kibale National Park. The stunning views we glimpse on the road only hint at the beauty of our next destination. We will get a lunch stop in Fort Portal; a divine land nested in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon.” We will press on to the dense forest of Kibale National Park, arriving at the lodge in time for dinner.
Overnight at the Hotel/Lodge
We will set out to the park headquarters for a briefing on the chimpanzee tracking activity that will also bring us up-close with other primates of the forest. We will return to the lodge for a warm lunch and a few minutes of relaxation before setting out to Bigodi Swamp for a scenic nature walk and birding.
Diner and overnight at the Hotel/Lodge
We will emerge from the depths of the forest to the lush green hills that cradle the picturesque crater lakes under a crisp blue sky. After gorging on the incredible scenery, we hike along Lake Nkuruba to meet Mahoma Falls. We will journey through the villages and delve deeper into the culture and customs of our hosts, the Batooro.

Dawn breaks with an exciting game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Diverse, thriving habitats host elephants, lions, hyenas, bushbuck, and roving antelope. After an hour of relaxation, we will dip into the afternoon with a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, the winding oasis that joins Lake Edward to Lake George. Its shores teem with buffalo, hippos, warthogs, and a multitude of birds; a taste of the 600 species found in the park.
Diner and overnight at the Hotel/Lodge
Our final morning in Queen Elizabeth presents an opportunity to traverse the grasslands of Ishasha, while on the look-out for the unique tree-climbing lions. From there, we will set a course to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Here we will settle in for the night at our booked safari lodge.
Diner and overnight at the Hotel/Lodge
This morning we will set out in anticipation for the most challenging and rewarding journey so far. Gorilla tracking may mean a brief hike or hours of burrowing into thick forests behind a seasoned tracker. But the difficulty of the hike fades into awe when we finally enter the presence of these indomitable primates as they hug, tussle, and play in the intimacy of their home. Return from this incredible adventure and set out for another with the Pygmies of Ituri Forest called the Batwa people. Get a close encounter with this unique group of people.
Diner and overnight at the Hotel/Lodge
After a fun filled adventure of ten days, we will check out of the lodge and begin our journey to a preferred drop off point in Kampala/Entebbe. Our first stop will be in Mbarara for lunch and last stop at the Uganda equator for pictures and shopping for various souvenirs or gifts for friends and family.
